Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-OH)

Congresswoman Kaptur is the Representative from the 8th District of Ohio. Prior to her election, she worked for 15 years as a city and regional planner (primarily in Toledo and Chicago) and served as a domestic policy advisor to President Jimmy Carter. She has a bachelors degree in history from the University of Wisconsin and a masters degree in urban planning from the University of Michigan. Congresswoman Kaptur currently serves on the House Appropriations Committee, where she is the ranking member on the Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development.
