Doctor Richard Pipes
Dr. Richard Pipes is a world-renowned historian on the Russian Revolution the Soviet Union. He is the Frank B. Baird, Jr. Professor of History, Emeritus, at Harvard University. In the 1970s, Pipes led a CIA-commissioned examination of Soviet weapons levels, and in 1981 was appointed National Security Council advisor on Soviet affairs to President Ronald Reagan. He has written or edited 28 books and is the recipient of many honors, including the Victim of Communism Memorial Foundation’s Truman-Reagan Medal of Freedom in 2009.
